VRT proof of address and proof of pps

    Hi all,

    VRT appointment soon.

I have my proof of address in the form of a letter from my insurance company setting out payments due etc.

For proof of PPS I have payslips but these show my parent's address which is in a different county. Never changed my address with work, couldn't be bothered.

Will this be an issue? I would rather the car have plates for the county I live in now.

    Thanks

I've done a few VRT inspections and they're quite fussy about the documentation (in Blarney).

Would only accept a Bank / Credit Card /Credit Union statement as proof of address, wouldn't take my health insurance bill for my address or a mobile phone bill which I'd printed from a pdf attachment.

And only accepted a P60 from me, as my payslip was printed from an email they wouldn't accept.

Maybe that was the particular agent I was dealing with but I'd have all my documentation 100% before I go.

Revenue are pretty strict with the criteria around VRT so you could be in trouble. I think the address on the utility bills will have to match the address they have on record linked to your PPS number. You could give your local NCT centre a call to clarify.

Not sure it will help with the VRT but just for future reference you can change/update the address associated with your PPS number (you really should do this anyway) using Revenue's MyAccount online.
