Hi all just wondering could I get some advice on my car advert on Donedeal, it's been posted up 9 days now and not as much as a phonecall or message of enquiry about it,

Think i have it well priced considering its spec and maintenance plus no shortage of money spent on it in my ownership

Here's the Donedeal advert, I know i have no interior shots of the car but it is going in for a full valet tomorrow morning and I'll update the advert with alot better photos and also photos of the service record and receipts etc

You should do green light verified anyway.

I wouldn’t go into detail about the interior being grubby.

Aside from that my initial thoughts would be that there may not be that big a market for an old model FR. It would be a pretty niche market.

Yours is a lovely example by the looks of it but it might sell easier on an owners club page on Facebook?

Thanks colm_mcm, ya must do the Greenlight verified, as soon as it valeted tomorrow I'll remove the comment about it being grubby

Does the price seem realistic for it, i know it's the older MK2 version and everyone or most want the newest MK3 or a VW Golf

Adding interior photos will make a difference.
I immediately ignore car ads without them.

    Your ad is too long.
You have 3 line items about the mirrors and 5 about the headlights.

Thanks for pointing that out will edit them back to one line of detail on each item,

The fact that it's mapped may turn people off.

How did that affect your insurance? That may be a concern for people.

Well I’ve been looking at FRs in the uk for the last whole and your very close to some of the higher mileage new models (albeit probably 150 models not 184)
It seems a bit dear but there might be a market for them out there that’s gone over my head.

Price a similar one to yours in the uk and see what our get. Disregard all the maintenance stuff you’ve done when you’re comparing as that’s really the cherry on top rather than something that adds huge value.

I would leave out about the DPF. I wouldn’t hide it when selling it or anything, just it might put people off.

I've found 9 2012 Seat Leon on Autotrader, all are the 2.0tdi cr engine, most of them have similar factory specs as mine albeit one or two have the Nav and heated leather etc,

Prices are between £4450 and £8250 and that's with mileage set between 80000 and 90000 miles

Would i be right on saying the average price comes in around £6165 or €6762 euro equivalent

I suppose it's easily a €7000 car with all the other bits and Bob's done, i.e new parts, service history, long nct, tax for a few months, some mods done etc

As I said the price could well be right, you might just have to wait for someone who’s actually looking for one.

I'd remove the line about it being grubby asap. No point waiting until it's cleaned.
You might put people off, and they aren't going to see it before it's cleaned anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Everything sells you just have to be patient. The right customer will come. Id definitely green light it and add interior pictures. Also maybe one pic of service book open showing service stamps. Shorten the add also

Take out the last bit about stone chips and length and breadth.
Anyone seeing a 7 year old car expect that. No sense pointing it out.

Why mention the new windscreen? Theres a lot of fat in that ad to trim down.

    It looks a lovely car.

But what would concerning to a buyer is that it was chipped/revamped by previous owner and it's on lowering springs. Some people want an original car without after market mods.

You could take a walk around video of it. When I sold my car it definitely helped.
