Is Doctor Duffy a lump job at 6/4-13/8. Gave Peregrine Run 10 pounds last time and only just failed.
Some interesting enough types in the race but Jesus they will do well to come up to that form.

Also think Threat is a bit big at 15/8 at Goodwood. It's a pretty poor renewal of that race and his Coventry form would be enough to win it imo.

Will band of outlaws land the Galway hurdle ?

Riven Light in the hurdle for me. Has gone up 22lbs in the flat ratings since he last ran over the sticks and is now rated 112.
Off 139 here he's surely thrown in and is also a dual course winner albeit on the flat
Currently 10/1 with 6 places looks a decent ew play

Threat at 13/8 could be a bet. That Arizona could be quite decent.

I might give Just Wonderful another chance. On 2yr old form she was the best of these, and don't forget she was Moore's choice in the 1000 g's, didn't handle the track but ran on well enough. I'll find some excuses for her subsequent two runs but came back to form over 10f at Belmont. looks like she wants this trip now. Ground perfect as not too fast. Worth a small e/w play.

1759. The year Guinness was established.

I think they call it Guinness time.

Tudor City for me. Had a nice little prep run last time out and Tony Martins horses are flying at the moment.

I can't trust the horse but Puppy would've had the choice of a few in it I suspect so interesting he goes for him despite rarely getting his head in front.

Only bet for me today is Riven Light at 10/1. Been a year and a day since this horse won, funnily enough Danny Mullins was on board that day. Switches from Flat to hurdles.

Rawdaa at 10s in the Nassau Stakes 15:35 Goodwood.
Hermosa the warm favourite is the 1000 Guineas winner but this is 10f.
Channel has a Group 1 win at 10f.
    It is an interesting race.

    Fillies will be fillies.

Frankie and Moore surely cut each other's throats? Anyone see sectionals yet?

The race time was 0.07 fast, quit a bit quicker than the earlier races.
The winner and the 3rd were at the back of the field most of the way which suggests too much early and midrace pace.

It has to be said. Oisin Murphy is such a good talker and gives incredible insight post race. Take away Frankie and he is clear of the rest on this point.
    Great for the game.

Murphy said there he was not able to go the pace after jumping on terms with Frankie and Ryan.
So they probably went that tad bit to quick.

    Fillies will be fillies.

    These 3yos will be shyte.

Jalmood was getting 3lbs in the Gordon Stakes which meant that he was set up to produce a G1 winning performance against the top weights in that race.

He went off at a huge 4/1 and duly flopped. The only thing worth making of the 3yo form is nothing.

Not a good sign for the people who are touting Japan for the Arc. Finished not to far away from him lto.

I think the sprinters will turn out to be decent. Calyx who we obviously wont see anymore likely had a lot more to show and hopefully we can see Ten Sovereigns next year again. Pending how the rest of the season goes.

But yes id agree that the middle distance horses are pretty ****e.

I also would be giving Too Darn Hot another chance to show his class. Think he did not enjoy the trip in the sussex one bit and also want to see King of Comedy again.

Goodwood are an absolute joke with all these delays. There is no reason for them to be running 15minutes behind schedule.

    What happened?

He might be referring to races be run late (not sure why). Galway hurdle was shown split screen on Racing TV which was a bit disappointing as I struggled to follow my choice as the back of the field :)

I backed David’s Charm with Ladbrokes and they paid 1/5 odds because they offered an extra place in the race. I had 1/4 odds first four written on the docket. Do rules of racing not apply to the first four home in a handicap and the extra place is paid 1/5 odds or am I mistaken?

Think this is standard practice unfortunately.

The milers aren't great either, it's a poor state of affairs when you can see I Can Fly and Happy Power a length and 3/4 off the winner in a race with a history like the Sussex has. It's all the more puzzling when you see that the almost half decent older horses in the race didn't run up to their potential.

This lack of quality milers has been going on for a few years, last year the 10f horse Roaring Lion was able to come back and beat them all in the QE II with a load of dross in the places and a good horse like Laurens out with the washing.

The year before that Ribchester was being touted as a great miler despite only winning the Queen Anne by 1 1/2 L from Deauville in 3rd, a 3Lb beating of Deauville is a long long way from the classy mile form his 125 OR implied.

I'd agree that there are more wins to come from Too Darn Hot, but the nonsense about his lack of stamina sicken's me. In the Sussex he outstayed a very gutsy battler in Circus Maximus, Gosden is becoming full of manure.
