Has anyone wore one with a tooth/teeth and how you find it?

    Thanks

The vast majority of people who require retainers after orthodontic treatment wear Essix retainers at night. Has an orthodontist recommended them to you?

I think poster means one with a prosthetic tooth?

They are ok short term but long term you would probably want something more definite.

The more teeth it's replacing the less retentive it's going to be. For a small number of teeth it would prob be an ok immediate if waiting for an implant etc..
Are you getting a front tooth extracted?

Sorry yeah that is what I meant.
Would that or the flipper be better while going through implant procedure?
Not quite front but defo where it is visible
    Thanks.

One thing you notice at implant clinics is that patients dislike(hate) "flippers" but they are relatively affordable and easily adjusted. I'm sure it's the palatal coverage that is disliked where as Essix are tooth retained. However, if you are missing a few teeth you may want this coverage to get extra retention.

Your dentist would be best able to advise you on your situation.

If patient is to get two stage implant and doesn't want something removable I have done no prep resin bonded bridges (composite Pontic) in selected cases with good results too..

Really the implant surgeon should be choosing the temporary that will best ensure the heaing of the implants and protect the graft. This is not a decision to be made based on patient preference.

I am also thinking of the cobalt chrome denture. Does the metal damage your other teeth?
Obviously I will ask all these questions at next apt.
I was all set for implants but these ones look very sturdy?
Perhaps better option as easier to clean than implants?
    Implants may fail?
