CVRT test - light intensity is not acceptable

I recently put a vehicle through a CRT test and it failed on a number of items including:

    1) Headlamp Aim Testing - Dip Beam - Fail

    2) Lamps Reflectors and Electrical Equipment

Headlamps - Condition and Operation - Fail

    (Light Intensity is not acceptable)

    Recommendation:

    Focus headlights and clean headlamps.

I was advised that I might need to replace both headlights completely.

Any solutions to resolving these faults?

if the headlights are a bit foggy looking its a common problem with a lot of makes and models

A lot of places do a light restoration like RPM in dublin

Its a very easy job with some rubbing compound and a polishing mop on a drill/vast amount of elbow grease.

    thanks for your responses.

I tried the toothpaste method before the test and I thought they came up well.

I brought the car to a company to get them to sort out the aim, but they couldn't do anything as they said the condition was too far gone.

They suggested to replace the headlights.

Try another company because i seen some headlights which where extremely fogged over and came up as good as new

Worth a try instead of spending a few hundred on new headlights
