    Hi all
Recently married and just wondering about tax credits.

My wife is on carers allowance for her ill father. Her father is on a disability payment from another EU country and nothing from Ireland.

I am wondering can I claim home carer tax credit and dependant relative tax credit on behalf of my wife.

I already am claiming her personal credit.

Thanks in advance for the help

Carer's Allowance is not taken into account when claiming Home Carer's Tax Credit. However, Carer's Allowance is taxable, so this will likely have an effect on your standard rate cut off point.

Dep Relative credit is likely due.
