Currently driving a 2012 2.0L Diesel SEAT but wanted to upgrade a few years. I do a long commute (140 km/ day).

I test drove two VW CC Sports (2016(161)), one was manual, and one DSG (automatic). Didn't like the manual but really liked the DSG but thought its condition on the interior and boot especially was shabby. The boot lining was black in colour though thought it would be the usual grey and it very furry as if someone had vaxed it to death. The interior was ok but very grubby with some scratches on equipment. The car is being sold by a main VW main dealer for €23k, 45000km. I do like the 161 DSG CC but am a little hesitant due to the interior condition and boot added to the fact that the VW dealer really didn't know anything about the car. I had to ask more than once to get answers to questions on the cars equipment.

Any advice from VW CC owners? Are there other questions I should ask or things I should be thinking about.

If the shabby interior and boot are bothering you now then imo it will only grow worse after you have bought it. For that reason alone I'd pass on that one, 23k is just too much money to be spending on a car that sounds like it just wasn't cared for very well.

If you need further incentive to get one from the UK, sterling hit a 2 year low against the euro today...and might keep going.

I bought a 152 R-line CC from the UK back in february after searching for one here for ages but only found high milers or ones that looked shabby. My one had 37 thousand miles on it when i got it with a full service history. It was serviced and DSG gearbox oil changed for me before i bought. I love it and the R-line spec is hard to beat. The UK is the way to go.

I know you said you were looking at 161’s but here is a 151 and an example of what I bought (mine is black though) but a stunning car with only 29k miles and its in a main VW dealer. You could get it for under 20k vrt included

Thanks for all the advice. I’m going north tomorrow as I spotted a 2016 VW CC R-Line on the web in Agnews in Belfast. It only went up today. No pics online
