    Hi,

Does my car charger point have to be on an external wall or can it be mounted at a fix point away from the house? I’ve cable left out in my garden that was originally to be used for external lighting but I might use it to take a car charger point away from the house where we park our cars and would be more accessible. We don’t have an Electric vehicle at the moment but want to have it in an accessible place without having to dig up the drive in the future.

What gauge cable is it? It's unlikely to be thick enough for charging an EV on a 6.6kw charger. Your car charger will be pulling up to ~32Amps, and depending on the distance between your fusebox and where you want the charger, you may need 10sqr cable (6sqr cable at a minimum if the distance isn't far).
