I would hate to be asked this in an interview. They're straight away implying that you yourself think that you are weak and that you're ashamed about so. And that now you have decided to achieve something great just for the sake of filling a void within you because you were bullied. Oh, and of course the interviewer gets to pass it off as if it's just an innocent question! Here Donald Trump gets asked it.

It makes me wonder what percentage of people have been bullied at some point in their lives. Are we supposed to be ashamed of it? It seems to me that we should be... that's it's something we're supposed to hide. In my time I've heard a few snide remarks like "oh, bullied as a child I expect" made towards people with intent to hurt them.

Bullying is a current hot topic in relation to mental health and suicide. Maybe the assumption is it will help someone to hear a celebrity's story, and how they've overcome it and achieved?

Or it could just be to annoy you.

Yes, nearly every day in primary (iirc) and secondary school. Why? Because I was short and ginger. I'm still short for a male (5'6"), and while the roaring red hair has gone off my head, I now have a gorgeous ginger beard in its stead. People still make ginger jokes like they're acceptable and while I'm gone well beyond caring, and actively try to find new insults which I haven't heard before. Even my own sister made a comment during the Tipp/Wexford match, and didn't realise until I pointed it out. It's so common people don't realise they're doing it.

And as a celebrity, they should be able for any question thrown at them. You put yourself in the public eye, you'll get these questions.
