Is Aertel gone from Sky?

Aertel on Sky (channels 801 and 802) hadn't been updated for a week, today it seemed to have gone completely but as of this afternoon there has been another change, it is now endlessly "hunting" for pages 143-145

Has RTE managed to get out of its obligation to provide a teletext service? This has been mooted for several years.

Alternatively, perhaps someone in RTE has gone on sick leave or on their summer holidays.

I’m surprised it’s still being provided on Sky to be honest - how many people are still connecting their Sky boxes to their TV via SCART? HDMI has been standard for ages and it doesn’t carry the teletext signal.

Once VM analogue switch off is (very soon) complete there won’t be many people able to access it on that platform either.

WST is simply an old technology at this stage, there are few using it and suspect many would be surprised that it’s still going.

I agree with the above and even with Aertel seemingly gone for over a week, I didn't see any complaints online so either nobody has noticed or the people that use it are not the demographic that use the internet.

However - if if it has gone and regardless of how many people still use it, surely there should be an announcement from Sky and/or RTE to that effect and clarity on whether the obligation to provide it no longer applies.

Until this morning the old Teletext version has been stuck on stories from 24th July .

By this evening they have stopped transmitting pages up to pg 206.

The only updates are on pg888
