Mcguirks sale a few days after making an order

Went through fitting process with mcguirks last week, got fitted for the whole bag pretty much and the bill came to 2500 euro.
I was happy enough to pay to be honest, quite excited to get new clubs. So I paid a 300 euro deposit on them

Went to website today and they are selling the same clubs for 20% off. Now I know I don't have any comeback on this really but it is a bit sickening that they didn't give me the heads up on the sale coming up. Shot them off an email there to see if they would do anything for me on the price but not expecting anything,

If you haven't paid in full, go in and ask for your deposit back or ask for the price on the website.
Have they fitted you for a optional shaft or is it the standard shaft? Best thing to do is talk to them.

Unfortunately, it says it excludes cutom fit orders

Doubt you’ll get any money off but they might throw you a dozen balls or a couple of hats etc

There is nothing worse when that happens, the odd time you'd get a sound salesperson given you the heads up on a sale.

As a matter of interest did they give you any discount on the clubs you had purchased at the time? I work beside a McGuirks and the week of the open i checked the mcguirks website and they had a decent sale to be fair (especially on shoes) but went into the shop and no sign of a sale (until a week after the open)

Everything in McGuirks is usually discount by 20%, this sale is fake news because you always get that discount. I doubt you paid full price on that sort of order. Did you compare it to the retail price?

    Hey Guys,

they got back to me to say that the sale was just for off the shelf equipment which is a bit of an eye opener to the cost of getting fitted for your clubs. The sticker price for what I bought was 2150 and they knocked it down to 2000 plus a gapping session in a few weeks. So a bit of a discount but nothing close to 20% 400 odd euro worth.

Thats the way it goes, I don't expect anything off them, I was happy to part with 2G last week for new fitted clubs so I just have to lean into it.

At the end of the day if you’ve clubs that do the business on the course and you enjoy your games it’s money well spent

yeah, I am at that blueballs stage though of having ordered the clubs but they haven't yet arrived
