    I'd use Revolut ;)
Give them a go of the trip isn't for another week or so.
Excellent app, great exchange rates and really easy to use.
Plenty of codes available to get free cards too of ya need it.

Just in case you do, my referral link to get you a free card and me a step closer to a metal on is

You could try buying some off fellow travelers in the airport. Apparently at the exchange desks £1 = €0.85, so €1 should buy £1.17.

    Dafuq is a passcard?

Here OP, did you see Beverly Hills 90210 last night?

Either brexit has really tanked sterling or that's the wrong way around.

For a euro you should be getting about 92.5p going by the markets but in reality you be getting about 89p for your euro.

And yes the pound is crashing hard.

And with revolut you would have got 90.2 this morning.

I got 200 sterling for 224 euro earlier. I'd rather just have the money on me.

Airport desks have insanely poor rates; moreso in Heathrow which is where all the UK media get the prices from than Dublin.

So you'd need to spend several thousand to make a wit of difference.

Along with the convenience of it.

I still don't believe in Heathrow I can get £1.17 for €1 when the best I get anywhere else is around £0.90

Wouldn't be surprised if it's the other way around and £1.17 gets you a euro....

Yeah, you won't - the 85c for a pound rate will be the worst robbers rate that way; but their rate back won't be a direct mirror of it.

guess contactless is better than the airport exchange rate anyway?

checking revolut currently rate is 0.911 which isnt bad, now hoping it tanks more to like 0.95 and its worth buying some to keep until they back off again with stupid brexit fail.

And with revolut you would have got 204 pounds for 224 euro (an extra free pint - outside of London)

Also if you didn't spend it all when away you can spend it easy enough in euro.

If you did spend it all you can top up via your Irish debit card.

Revolut / other similar companies make a mockery of using traditional exchange places.

OP take a look into revolut - big thread on boards with loads of useful info and it will save you money and also its other useful functions.

Non-perishable foods will be in high demand in Britain soon so bring some and swap it for jewellery.

It's all great on to you head to Asia where a lot of places will only take cash.

Eg Street food and markets and small shops

Ah yes when Sterling is mentioned I first think of buying street food in Asia.

If OP or others decide to go to Asia and needs to buy street food then I'll give other advice then.
