Very open question - price range, Do you want to stay in city and travel out to game or stay near ground and travel in for the show? Also price range do you want Budget, Middle or Top

Loads of value chains like Travel Lodge, Holiday Inn, Premier Inn etc hotels around Brentford which is a short train ride from Twickenham but a soulless enough area. Similar in choice in Ealing but better area.
Clayton hotel in Chiswick often popular with Irish also.

If you want to stay in City, there are Premier Inns everywhere, Putney near river is inbetween town and stadium. Loads of choice.

Train to Twickenham goes from Waterloo, staying in Westminster / Waterloo area won't be as cheap as a little further out but the Premier Inn at County Hall is as good as you will get. You can walk to your show if you like. If you want real value stay in Hounslow, not a great area but close to Heathrow and Twickenham and on the Piccadilly line which runs all night at weekends so you can get back from the West End quickly and cheaply. Not much to do there though unless you like curry.
Putney or Chiswick on the train line to Twickenham might be a good compromise, there are budget chains like Holiday Inn Express, Travellodge and Premier Inn everywhere usually V Clean and cheap for London. € to £ is nearly one to one now so everywhere will be cheap!

You could consider Windsor as well. Not as easy getting to a west end show, but a nice place to stay.
