We put a new one in and was ok, then started to leak (prob because not put in properly) all the parts are brand new

How much would the going rate be to instal it? One plumber quoted me E80 so far

    Thanks

Most plumbers will charge you a call out for a job like this so 80 is about right. Not the type of work I do nowadays but if it were me I'd be quoting for a new part. It's only a couple euros extra but I wouldn't be wasting my time trying to install the part that you couldn't install. The threads or an 0 ring could now be damaged.

Used to be 50 for call out not that long ago

I don't think parts are damaged, only putty so good cleaning should be like new, say less than a month old

I'm just saying that I personally wouldn't fit them. The only way I would do it is with new parts. I got caught out too many times.

You are going back a few decades for a 50 euro call out in Dublin. 70 to 90 inc vat are the norm in Dublin

EDIT: We were 55 Irish punts call out 20 years ago. We rounded up from 69.85 to 70 euro in 2002. I'm well due an increase after all these years. :)

We have cleaned the parts and they are like new, no point in another 20-25 euro on top of the 80 call out, ending up in 120

A year or two ago i got charged 50 to do small jobs like this, then as usual didn't want small jobs(as good times back) and dragged them on till fell out with him over it

I wouldn't half mind paying, if you didnt nearly have to beg lads to come out, the same lads who during the lean times falling over themselves to do these jobs

I'm sure you are talking about 50 cash in hand & not 50 inc vat

80 paid today no receipt etc, so cash in hand doesn't seem to offer a discount
