So according to Airwire FTTH is becoming available this Wednesday in my area!

Do the providers usually take orders on the go live date or will their systems take ages to update??

Fibre cables went up mid may!

    Thx

RFO is 30 days before first installs I think. Others will know.

Wednesday 31st for me too. Digiweb took my order last week and said it would be installed first week of August most likely. Time will tell if that the case I suppose.

Very good, where about are you located?

I was on to sky but they can't take an order til it's live on their system!

You can have an installation within a couple of days of the go live date if your provider is on the ball. Not all are unfortunately.

Is there any particular reason you're joining Sky? They have OK first year prices, albeit with a 1TB FUP, but after 12 months their prices are ludicrous. Are you willing to switch after 12 months?

Have sky q so was just going to bundle it all together.
And at least then I think my sky q boosters and mini q boxes will all act as hotspots!

99 installation and 35 p/m for 1gb ( if avail ). Hopefully after the 12 months they'll offer similar price to avoid me switching.

Offaly. In fairness as Navi said they couldn’t actually place the order with OpenEir until the 31st but they have taken my order and all the details already. He seemed confident on an early install, unless thee are unforeseen issues which can occur right after an area goes live. But those are rare. As I say time will tell. I choose Digiweb because of good reviews, cheaper install price and no jump in price after the 12 month contract. My first choice Westnet don’t cover Offaly. I’m currently with Eir on 5.1mb for the past 6 years with no complaints. Unfortunately as an existing customer they were very uncompetitive for me. I chose the 300mb package. I’m like a kid waiting for Christmas morning

I believe you're correct about Sky Q. As long as you're aware of the price jump. Hopefully you can get a good deal from them after 12 months!

Do you know the post 12 month prices?

I'm not sure but is it somewhere around €85 for the 1gb?

€95 according to the Sky site. This is on the open eir network, not SIRO. I don't know how they price it when you're bundling with another Sky product. You should ask for clarification about what price you'll be paying after 12 months.

It's a SIRO promotion so if you're not in a SIRO area (urban) you can't avail of it.

Sky have a 200 installation fee so it should be factored into the monthly price

So when the day came it was showing up as unavailable with Airwire?
What date is being shown now?

When date came still said available on the date a few days earlier. All suppliers have it since the 7th!

So it was available by Airwire all along from that date, but not by others because they didn't have their database up to date.

    That is quite normal.

Most of the large providers are focused on selling door to door anyhow. Not from online leads.

No on the 4th August still said was going to be able on 31/7... Was sorted a few days later anyway.

New problem now. Had a closed account from 2 years ago with Eir, after MUCH trouble I eventually got my UAN, now Vodafone are saying it's not correct!

Have confirmed this number twice with eir but Vodafone saying it's not correct, I'm stick in in limbo! Disaster!!

That means you can order, once it passed the date. Just because the date is there, doesn't mean you can't order. They only update the database once a week. And that is a lot more frequent than others.

And as for your UAN... thats only valid as long as the account is active.
