    Folks,
My Quad LNB has failed. I took a look at it last night, and the cover has broken apart and there is corrosion i see on the inputs. no signal into the house.
I bought an FTE Maximal LNB to replace today. Buts its not clear to me which input maps to Vertical Low, Vertical High, Horizontal low, Horizontal high. its clear on the old LNB, but on this one just i see 1, 2 3,4. any thoughts? I read about smart switching internally..but sense i would need the correct signal to the inpuit of multiswitch.

A quad LNB has 4 switchable outputs, a quattro has 4 outputs set for each of the bands.

It sounds like your switch may need a quattro, what does the manual say? You could try it with the quad, some can work with both, chances are you are going to have to buy a quattro though.

Your absolutely correct. I debugged it from the FTE website. I could see the diagram with the switch. Just swapped it there in galway. of course taking it down now..the damn LNB holder bolt is rusted through ! next part of the puzzle..
going to drill it out and try and keep the plastic holder save me going back into town!
