Mid range full set

Hi all,

I am taking up playing again after 15 years since my last round and am looking for a full set.

Problem I am running into is I am prepared to spend 500-700 inc bag but there doesn’t seem to be options in this range. It seems to be either budget €300 or €1,000+ custom fit.

Am I missing a trick?

Look at used sets, best to try and get your hands on somewhere that has a range so you can see how they work with your swing

What h/c did you play off when you last played? Do you know your club spec? For example I am 6'2" and play irons that are +0.5" and 2* upright. Do you need regular, stiff or other flex? If you know the spec I would def consider a slightly used set. Maybe have a fitting (or two) and take note of the spec, ie shaft model/length/flex, loft, lie. Then visit a few pro shops and see what they have, look online at adverts, golfbidder and maybe others to see if that spec can be found in a used set. If your last h/c was high I would recommend a game improvement set, Ping G400 woods/irons would be a good look. If your h/c was low I would look at something between GI and blades, maybe something like Mizuno JPX900 irons and Ping G400 woods. Good hunting.

I have never had a H/C, only played a few public courses in my teens, from memory I used to be trying to break 90, without ever managing.

So I am very much a beginner in relative terms. In the range recently and I can hit a 7 iron straight over 150 yards, driver comes off slicing though.

Saying that, I feel like I can get good pretty quickly, and would outgrow a €300 full set.

Anywhere in Dublin ye would recommend for a fitting?
