I am building a patio - nothing huge or fancy.

It is 10 ft x 10ft and cuts across like a triangle.

I am going to fill with 4inch of gravel but not sure how to calculate how much to order.

    Any advice?

Why gravel? You need hardcore... gravel is more used for making concrete...

To answer your question you need
about .9m cubic metres of hardcore plus a bit more to allow for for compaction.
So you need to order 2 ton bags... but you will have some left over.

This calculation is incorrect, the area of the triangular patio is 1/2(base)(height) = 1/2(10)10) = 50 sq.feet. The depth is 4 inches or 4/12 = 0.33 feet so the volume is 0.33 x 50 = 16.67 cubic feet which is about 0.5 cubic meters

Ah sorry missed the triangle bit... Not sure what cuts across like a triangle means... (maybe a sketch would help) If its a triangle (i.e. half of 10ft by 10ft) you will get away with 1ton abg.

No prob, I assume its basically a 10 x 10 square (100 sq ft) cut in half x 4 inches deep

I meant a sketch from the OP to verify what he means :)

Many thanks all for replies -yes it cuts across to make a triangle. So .5 cubic mtrs should do the trick. and hardcore not gravel
