Ford Focus 1.4 mk1 issues

    Hi Lads,

Having some issues with a focus and looking for some input.

I bought a MK1 1.4 petrol estate in Portugal, it’s a holiday car. I noticed that the take off in the car in first was slow, and juddery in 1st/2nd.

Figured my clutch was in the way out.

Today the car started making a whining noise, and I quickly realized it was when steering. Checked and the power steering fluid was at minimum. I topped it up, noise stopped for a little and came back.

When I checked the reservoir was empty (cold). I topped it up again and as soon as the car was started the fluid level dropped right out, turn it off and it’s at min again.

There appears to be fluid all over the front right wishbone area so clearly it’s pissing out somewhere.

I have it booked in with Feu Vert for Monday (a local Kwik fit type outfit), but between the clutch and now this I’m thinking a proper old school mechanic as no doubt there will be other stuff as a result and it could use a full going over.

    Until then..
Anything obvious I can check or known issues with seals or pipes on these?

    Thanks

I'm not so sure sure the clutch is to blame for car slow to drive and judder.
Ask the mechanics to check that too.
