Flex tape (don't use this, not rated for petrol)

Tried the online sites in Ireland. My car must be kinda rare? No joy.

You really need to ring the dismantlers listed rather than putting in a web Enquiry.

I'm still on de hunt for a fuel tank. I got a response.

The car is Hyundai Sonata V 2006 2L petrol.

My car is Hyundai Sonata mk III 2005 2L petrol.

Is there a way to find out if fuel tanks are compatible on both cars?

I rang de guy who has it, he said he's not sure but thinks it's de same?

    Mk3 Sonata ran from 1993 to 1998

Is your sonata the one that looks like a bit like a Honda Accord or the one that looks like a Jaguar S Type after a bad crash?

There was a model change in 2005 (fourth generation to fifth generation)

Ha, ya it does look a bit like a sad Jaguar.

The 2nd one below is mine.

Different cars, yours is the older shape, which was a facelift of the old 99/00 shape. I’d imagine the petrol tanks were the same all the way from 99 to 05 on that shape. They were all petrol too.

Did you try the bottom 3 cars on the partfinder list I gave you?

One of three sold, one a different model and other fuel tank bored to remove petrol. Mine is 1998 to 2005 model so anything older is not compatible.

    How bad is the leak?

A bit of chemical metal or some other suitable sealant might work.

    Worth a chance anyways.

There is no visible hole. I brought to garage and up on lift. The side is rusted. It leaks if two wheels on passenger side up on footpath it leaks to drivers side. Was told there is no safe fix except for replacement tank.

Rusted to the point that a bit of it has gone porous so.

Depending on what the breakers bored the other tank with you could always get that one repaired prior to having it fitted. That said it wouldn't be worth your while unless its in excellent condition besides the hole and priced accordingly (very cheap)

Il spend a little more time ringing dismantlers and then get rid if unsuccessful.
