Is this airline a decent alternative to Ryanair? They certainly compete on price

Flew with them earlier this summer. Used the app to check in. Flew UK to Spain on an airbus, it was comfortable and spacious.
    They seemed grand!

Used them and got a semi private flight, for €30.
I was I charge of both wing exits and a nice Italian couple had to man the tail ones.

Their website indicates that you can check-in online at Dublin now.

Flew with them a few times. Similar in experience to Ryanair, Aer Lingus and other low cost airlines.

I can confirm that you can check in online and use your phone as boarding pass in Dublin.

I'm thinking of booking flights with Vueling from Dublin to Barcelona.Has anyone any experience of using them or know anything about the airline ? I normally book Ryanair but times and dates don't suit. Thanks.

Largest airline in Spain and part of the same group as Aer Lingus.
So essentially the aer lingus of spain, i.e. an airline that nobody outside the home country would have heard of unless they were flying to it.

Used them several times on that route, all fine, they are part of the same group as BA and EI.

Last time I flew with them (2019), they cut off the number of online check-ins at 100 and I had to check in at the desk.

The English version of their app in 2018 was pretty atrocious, had multiple issues with not being able to check in, or the app freaking out when it accidently let me change my seat for free.

They use A320 jets with the slim Recaro 'sports seat' which I really liked, but I've read elsewhere that if you're out of shape they are uncomfortable.

The song they play in the cabin will wreck your head after about 5mins too.

A lot of airlines use these seats so it's hard to avoid them if you don't like them. I don't particularly mind them. In general the slim seats give a bit of extra legroom; not always though as some airlines may use this as an excuse to reduce seat pitch.

I know that Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, SAS, TAP, BA (A320/1 neo), Iberia, Croatia, TAP, Brussels, Eurowings all use them. There's probably a lot more as well.

Flying Barcelona - Dublin at the end of March, first time flying with them.

They were considerably cheaper than Ryanair (Booked 10 weeks in advance).

I flew Dub - Barcelona with them in July 2018. I had never heard of them but their flight times suited me the best. No complaints at all (I think I splashed out an extra few Euro for priority boarding and a seat at the front), would use them again.

Better service too. Despite both being low-cost carriers, there difference in service between the two is like comparing apples and oranges.
