I’ve just bought a small 2 bed apartment 630sq ft

I am needing 2 bedrooms carpeted and the living room area laminate flooring

What is the best way to go about this?

Do I go to one of those places advertised on the tv and get them to supply and fit or is this very expensive approach?

    Bedroom 1 4.42x2.57
    Bedroom 2. 5.25x2.71

    Sitting room 6.48x3.33

    Thanks

Just go to a flooring shop and they'll sort it all for you. Bring your measurements so you can get a rough quote, but they'll probably send their own person to measure when you go ahead with the order.

You can try fit the laminate yourself, but in my experience most DIY jobs on flooring end up looking obviously amateur.

    Thanks

    I have received various quotes

My major problem is , the rooms need to be cleared and flooring up before they start

As it’s a small apartment, I’ve nowhere to put any of the contents

Bedroom 1 king sized bed and unit ( not too bad)

Bedroom 2 has a lot of things, bed, desk, units, wardrobe

Living area, white goods, couch, sofa

Is there a common solution to this as id imagine others have been in this situation

Lastly , it was recommended for the living area to have it all laminated flooring as currently the kitchen area has Lino and the rest of the space laminated flooring

This would then make the room ‘bigger’

Would it be wise having laminated flooring in a kitchen area?

    Thanks

You can get grades of laminated flooring that are suitable for kitchens and bathrooms. Generally a bit more expensive.

Do you have a hallway outside your apartment? Move big stuff there, and then pack the rest of the stuff into the bathroom. If not you will probably have to do a bit of moving around while they're fitting. Move everything out of one bedroom and let them carpet it, then move everything into that bedroom so they can carpet the other one.

It'll probably be at least two different people working on it, as carpets are done by carpet fitters and wood floor done by joiners in my experience.

Personally I'd get rid of the lino for sure, it looks naff. Whether you tile the kitchen or continue the laminate in there is a personal decision. As the poster said above, you'll need to make sure your laminate is ok for kitchens. The cheapo stuff won't do.
