    Needs to be....

    Thin and look good
    SSD ( don’t need a lot of storage 128/256 enough
    Fast enough to handle Microsoft office.... and Netflix
    Budget 500
    On amazon would be a bonus.

    this is very good value at £400 (less than 500 euro delivered). reliable site that delivers to Ireland. not amazon but it's a very good site. amazon is not offering any similar value as this though.

    4-core i5 cpu which is a very capable cpu - more than enough for your uses of office and netflix
    1080p ips screen 14 inch - plenty big enough imo (15.6 less popular as a screen size these days)
    8gb ram - good amount for win 10
    128gb ssd
    reasonably thin and portable at 1.67kg

    only downside is that battery life is on the short side at probably 5 hours but if mainly home use doesn't matter much.
    it also has fast charging e.g. 15 mins charge for 2 hours use.

    still best value out there at the moment.
