Hi I’m looking at buying a new Peugeot 5008 mainly for the space and carrying e tea people every now and then we have one child so most journeys would only consist of two adults and one child, I’m just wondering can anyone give advise on which engine to go with I’m edging towards the 1.2 petrol but given the size of the suv I’m not sure if that would be enough power. Anyone have a 1.2 petrol that can advise.

Absolutely love the look of those.

Personally I'd only buy if I could afford the 2litre diesel, 1.6 seems too small for such a big car

Don't think I'd like a Peugeot in petrol

It's quite a long car, great sized boot etc and if it's loaded up, I think the 1.2 would struggle. That said, the 1.6 in them can get to 225bhp so what is the output of the 1.2 do you know?

Cracking looking car inside and out.

What sort of mileage are you doing?

Is it lots of short trips or lots of long trips?

The 5008 is a 7 seater, if only 2 adults 1 child you are doing a big jump. Would you need all that space?

Remember the bigger the car the less econimical it is

Look at the 3008. Front half of the car is exactly the same as the 5008 and will still be plenty roomy for 2+1 and a few euro cheaper also.

Had a brand new one of these in France as a rental for a week back in May. I was very impressed. Interior is great, driving position, comfort, tech, all first class. It was quite nice and easy to drive too for such a big car.

It was a diesel but I couldn’t tell you which one. It was too spec (GT?) so had all the trimmings.
