Renting out land keep entitlements

Have land that is too far to farm. Plenty neighbours interested in taking it but I have entitlements attached to the land.
Any way I can keep those entitlements and rent the land out. The options I see are , cash payment on the land and I’ll be still farming it in the depts eyes, or rent land near me to keep the entitlements.
Any other options? Not interested in selling the entitlements or leasing them out.
    TIA

Depends on whether you are asking us to read between the lines or not. Simple way to do what you are saying is just to rent other land closer and have 1 Ha per entitlement you claim for.

(I think what you are asking though is to "sell the grass" off the field as in sell silage or hay on the flat. i.e. not rent it out officially and claim it as if you are still farming it. You still put it in in your own maps and have the person "buying the grass" off it not put it in..........I'm sure that people do this but you are getting into a grey area insurance wise and otherwise.)

Yes it can be done officially, in three month blocks (periods). There are lads working in England, third party farmer rents land for 3 months and puts stock into herd no of farm owner, like b+b. Farm owner gets SFP, and ANC.

You'd be clocking up movements on cattle fast at that, probably better just renting for silage

You would still need the stock number to activate the entitlements. Would an easier job not be to rent the land with the entitlements and the Tennant pays you for both the land & entitlements. That way he / she gets the use of the land as they wish with maps to keep their nitrates correct and you have the income form the entitlements plus the rent of the land.

I wasn’t aware of that, thanks. Is there any risk I would loose my entitlements in the future doing that?

Can you not just rent it to a lad on an agreed term lease (5 yeats plus) complete with the entitlements attached, factoring in the monies incoming from the entitlements to the price of the lease?
There had to be a bit of "gravy" for the guy taking the trouble to farm the land, so perhaps set it up so that he gets 15 or 20% of entitlement value.

No stock needed to draw down entitlements value, stock needed for anc and some organic payments only.

No one knows for sure but my guess would be that there is a good chance you will lose them when the new cap kicks in

    That’s a good idea. Thanks

O I thought there was, as buy I silage from a lad beside me and he keeps a section of one field every year as he needs 7 livestock units to activate his entitlements. He feeds a few stripper cows on it.( March until October as he needs to have them for 7 months) Would willingly rent all off him but he wants to keep his hand in encase any new scheme comes along.. he is glas as well.

The stock for 7 months is for ANC.
