Trying to save my files from my MacBook pro's drive (hooked up currently to my PC) but get a sign saying "the folder desktop can't be opened because you don't have permission to see it's contents".

How do I get around that? Ive never seen that before!

Please help. I can't get the mac book going any more and had hoped to carry stuff over to external hard drive.
    Thanks!

Solved it - I changed the permissions in the info section
