Motorbike licence test process

Just looking for some advice as to the exact process of obtaining a motorbike licence.

I've got a full car category B licence but would like to add the motorcycle category to my licence.

What is the exact difference between the various motor bike licence categories?

What are the various stages / steps the I need to take to get the licence? Do I have to do a theory test?

I'm a little confused about the difference between the motor bike categories.

    RSA has it all....

Depends on age and having car licence has nothing to do with it although if you done a theory test you should be covered to now apply for your learner permit.

You need to do ibt motorbike training and also get a bike suitable with kilowatt rating for the category you want.

A is the best to go for if eligible.

Cheers, thanks for the help. So by virtue of the fact that I already have the theory test completed with my car licence I can skip to apply for a learners permit is that correct?

If you did what's known as a group 1 theory test (Car & Bike) before 2006 then you are fine. If not then you need to do it.

In that case (group 1) you just apply for the Learner Permit
