Is it legal to sell a car with no tax or nct?

I have an old car I want to get rid of and was wondering is it legal to sell it without tax or nct. Say someone buys it from me and drives off in it with no insurance and is in a crash and someone gets hurt or whatever, am I liable then?

No tax is grand but no NCT will affect your price unless you find an idiot to buy it.

It is legal to sell with no tax or NCT.
Once papers are signed and money exchanged hands you have no part in what happens next (if for example the new owner gets nabbed for not displaying valid discs)
