Just wondering does anyone know what an ECC charge is from eir??

My bill is usually about €80 a month but they've add an ECC charge this month of over €500.

This is the only info on the bill "ECC for eir Mobile Essential 19-Jun-19 €572.40"!!

They won't tell me on live chat and I couldn't get through on the phone earlier.

    All help appreciated!

Ya, I do. Actually moved house a couple of months back and for the home move (tv, internet) they said I had to change SIM. Nothing about changing contracts, just had to change SIM for the new address. Which made no sense to me. Must be some mix up with that. thanks

Funny, I had a similar phone call with them this morning - signed up to Eir Mobile in Sept 2017 on an 18 month contract (Broadband, home phone and mobile) with a new phone, and that contract was renewed for another 18 months when I upgraded up to their FTTH package at start of January 2018.  At the start of July, when the 18 months were up, I moved to Vodafone for the broadband and Virgin Media for mobile, and my final bill included a €135 ECC.

On querying this, I was told that as I had got a new phone as part of the deal in 2017, I was signed up for a 2 year contract, despite every bit of documentation sent to me specifying 18 months.  I disputed this strongly, so in the end they waived the charges - I'm actually due a refund from them now!

Mad! All I did was get a new SIM I didn't even want. All sorted now anyway. And it's Friday so can't complain.

Hopefully it is, I would however watch the credit card statement very closely, it is Eir you know.
