Fixtures for this season confirmed. Less of direct clash with AIL which is good.

I'm not 100% sure how much value it will be as a lot of the players of the type who would have been in the squad last year will be in the senior squad filling in for players at the world Cup.

Most of the games are before the Pro 14 begins so I'd say a lot of teams will use them as Pre Season friendlies

Connacht will be fairly disappointed with themselves, a lot of errors and weren't able to put phases together so they were never really in the game. Quite a lot of poor lineout throws, a few overthrown and a few not straight, which kept giving Ulster back possession. Seemed to have the upperhand at scrum time, but not enough to really make an impact on the game.

Ulster were just clinical with their chance, and were better at retaining possession with their lineouts and in open play. The game wasn't glamorous, forwards played well and with Connacht not on form it was a fairly straightforward win.

I hadn't realised that Connacht's A team went by the somewhat grandiose name of "Eagles"!

If they're called the eagles, what are members of the first team called? The Pterodactyls?

Leinster wrapped up the Celtic Cup qualifiers with a comfortable 14 - 43 win in Galway this afternoon. Two tries for visiting (?) Hawaiian prop Roman Salanoa.

They topped the table and will play Ulster A in the final.

Wouldn't say Salanoa is visiting any more, he came over as part of the sub-academy at the start of the 17/18 season, so this is his 3rd season with Leinster (granted the first he's trained with the seniors). Becomes Irish qualified next September. He's listed on the Leinster website as an academy player so not sure if he's been officially given an academy contract or not.
