Werewolf on boards.ie has been an active game and community for a long time. As such, terminology and information pertaining to past games has been built up. The members of the community on boards are very open to people joining in, so put some work into preparing the below glossary of terms and roles for new players to reference.

If you have a question on any of these, please ask here.

Glossary of Terms - Please find some of the commonly used phrases that you may encounter during a game.

A Necro style game - a game with complex and sometimes confusing roles
Auto-priest - alignment/role of player announced on thread upon death of player, as opposed to be told to one player in private (that player being the priest role)
Beakering - false claiming a role or considered to be doing so
Bussing - where a wolf team member shops another on their team to the village for village credit.
CFD - Chinese Fire Drill - rapid changing of votes onto one candidate at the end of the day phase
COP - Change of plan games - the site that hosts most backrooms for the games
D&D - Dungeons&Dragons - alternative site also used to host some games.
    D0 / N0 / D1 etc etc - shortened terminology for the phase the game is in. EG: N0 = Night 0, D1 = Day 1 etc.
"D0 does not exist. Anybody who uses it is a wolf and trying to sow confusion on the thread, lynch them first.
N0 = Night 0, or pregame. D1 = Day 1, a lynch happens at the end of day. N1 = Night 1, Night ends with a munch at dawn. D2= Day 2 etc...."
Dead Room - where dead players and non-players can discuss the game out of view of the players.
Doing a Drumpot - Going down various potential rabbit holes that may or may not involve outed roled goodies actually being baddies
Doing a Molly - having an on thread meltdown
Doing a Pter - posting in your normal account during an anon game
EOD - End of Day, ie when the lynch happens.
FFA - Free For All - give a list with reasoning of your top suspicions for wolves
Flavour - descriptions of game actions by the game mods taking into account aspects of the game theme. E.g. Wolves munch someone, the mods post 'Someone was killed at midnight by having their neck strung out. The body was taken down, burned & spread to the wind'. The salient info here is that someone has died. The rest is just for added flavour.
Flip - to learn a player's alignment on their death, ie: I would like to see Necro's flip
Genieing - appearing nearly immediately on the game thread after your name is mentioned having not posted prior to this for a while
Ghost voting - Voting for lynch but not posting on thread
    Green/Red - indicative of good/evil alignment - green = good, red = evil
ISO - to isolate (ISO) a player's posts and analyse their content.
Lean - your personal feeling on a specific player ie: I lean good on Baggly
Lock clear/wolf - where a player is considered definitively as a particular alignment
LYLO - 'Lynch-or-Lose' Where an evil must be lynched or the village will lose the game
Lynch: where the villagers vote to eliminate a player they believe is a wolf from the game
Metagaming - Using information from outside the current game. e.g. Baggly played like this the last time he was a wolf so he must be a wolf now...
Mind control - a power a role may have to force another player to do crazy things on the game thread
Mountainous - a game with only wolves and villagers, no power roles.
Munch: where the wolves eliminate a player from the game
MYLO - 'Mislynch-and-Lose' If the village mislynches incorrectly they will lose, however there is an opportunity to 'No Lynch'.
No Lynch - where the village votes not to lynch anyone for that particular phase
NRV - Non-Roled Villager. Villager with no powers. Most common role in the game.
OMGUS - 'Oh My Gosh U Suck' used when a player accuses another after first being accused by said player purely because they accused them.
Pocketing - where a wolf gains the trust of a villager
Rabbit Holing - Wild and sometimes outlandish theories on who the evils are
Ranking list - list of players and your feelings on them from either village to wolf or vice versa
Shake cages / trees / whatever you are shaking yourself - testing player's reactions through various methods.
    SK: Serial Killer
Skunked - to badger players on discord incessantly until they join Bounty Hunter's game
Tunnelling - where a villager incessantly and relentlessly believes another villager is a wolf
Twilight - a sometimes used phase between day and night
TWTBAW - 'Too Wolfy To Be A Wolf' Where a player's actions are deemed so wolfy they cannot be a wolf
Vanilla - a stripped back basic version of Werewolf, generally only involving one (or less) village role.
Vanillager: Another term for an NRV or villager with no powers
Wagonomics - lynch vote analysis used by players to attempt to find wolves
WIFOM - 'Wine in front of me' A multi-layered explanation for this one, best described here

Glossary of Roles - You will also find a list of potential roles that have been used / suggested in the past, below. Please note that these roles are indicative and exact role powers / mechanics / abilities will vary from game to game depending on how mods set the role up.

An example of this is that sometimes a bodyguard can protect the same person twice in a row; sometimes not. A vig may have to shoot during a certain time period, or they may have free rein to shoot whenever they want. This will be decided by game mods and may or may not be announced when the game starts (sometimes game mods like to keep the details secret for only the person who holds the role to know).

Metagaming - Using information from outside the current game. e.g. Baggly played like this the last time he was a wolf so he must be a wolf now...

Cant think of any other way to word it, but have at it!

Occam's Razor is the principle that, if two competing theories explain a single phenomenon, and they both generally reach the same conclusion, and they are both equally persuasive and convincing, and they both explain the problem or situation satisfactorily, the logician should always pick the less complex one. The one with the fewer number of moving parts, so to speak, is most likely to be correct. The idea is always to cut out extra unnecessary bits, hence the name "razor."

All things being equal, the simpler theory is more likely to be correct, rather than one that relies upon many hypothetical additions to the evidence already collected.
