Passed today. I'm going to pass on a few tips which might help.

Got there 30 mins before it started at 11am. It meant I was able to drive in and out of the hotel a few times and understand the entry and exit strategy, to get a good start, and to find a good place to park. It's busy there.

I then was asked some sign questions. Main ones were the new 80km sign and cul de sac.

Under the bonnet was location of brake and steering fluid. They indicators and brake lights.

Route was left at hotel exit, up and right and passed swimming pool. Past a load of roundabouts and right into estate. In the estate I did the reverse. Loads of cars heading my way. PLEASE LOOK OVER YOUR SHOULDER. Back around left and did 3 point turn. Some cars ca me. I let them go. Once it was clear I performed the turn and concentrated on not hitting the curb. A car had to wait. Let them wait. On the way back was asked to pull in and perform hand signals to other drivers and to the police. Note in the estate I was asked to pull in 3 times. This meant having to be really careful with observation.

Then right out of the estate and up through the town. Right at the top of the town and back to the Osprey.

IMPORTANT BIT. When I got back to the hotel car park it was very full. I had to reverse in between two cars. Lucky for me I did a great reverse. Please be ready for this.

My few faults were due to being over cautious at the roundabouts. I could have gone ahead quicker in some cases. Better to be safe that sorry though. The tester said don't over think. I think that is great advice. D'on drive too slowly during the test. Drive at a normal speed.

    My policy in the car
was to block out the tester apart from her instructions. I was comfortable with that.

I looked at a lot of videos on YouTube by a guy called Dane Tyghe. He is really good.

D'ont over think and do the simple things right.

I went out by Punchestown racecourse on one of my two routes! Wasn’t expecting it all. the second was up by the roundabouts at the new Apple green all the way down and right into morell, then left back up the town. I think the routes online are out of date? If anyone wants the two routes I went on in naas pm me.

I don't think there are specific routes. I know my instructor told me this when I said I was looking at the routes for my test centre online. She told me not to rely on it because they can choose their own on the day and the tester did. He even brought me to a place where I'd never practiced a reverse around the corner (instructor had brought me to at least 6 places they could do it and different corners in these places).
