    Hi, Hope someone can help.

i was made redundant 7 years ago and was paid an amount under the basic exemption.

Now i am facing redundancy again, can i claim the increase of 10k on the basic exemption to avoid some tax? This time i am just over the limit. It is very confusing to me because it says you cannot if you received a tax free lump sum in the last 10 years but does this include if you were under the basic exemption for tax in first redundancy?

    Thanks

If you haven't had the increased exemption before, you can avail of it now
