    Hi Guys,

I'm looking at a 2016 Tekna Leaf in the UK at auction. There is very little listed info about it so it doesn't state if it's 30kwh model or not.

It's date of registration is 23/09/16, does that mean it's likely to be a 30kwh model or were they still selling 24kwh models then?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

PS here's a pic of the dash, based on this I'm guessing it can't be 30kwh as the estimated range is so low

Never, the 24 was available until 2018.

The only way to tell is by the weight on the weightplate, the 30 and 24 have different weights

I think November is when they changed but am open to correction.

There was no change, it became an option so there's no visual way to determine a 30 over a 24 other than the cars weight plate. And even at that, there's a case in Ireland where Nissan made a mistake and put a 30 kWh plate on a 24 car

The range can be a good guide as there's certain figures that the L24 will never display but the real way is to check the metal plate.

Have you checked the UK reg?

With 34 miles at 6/12 charge it is a 24kWh pack...

Open to correction, but the 24kw batteries degrade less than the 30kw ones

No known difference at this stage. The L30 is still only ~3yrs old so too early to really tell.

There was an initial software bug, which is now fixed, that gave false readings on the L30 that made it look worse, but its not actually worse.

Actually, on that bug, will Leafspy pick up the bugged reading of SOH or the proper SOH?

LeafSpy will show you what the BMS thinks is the battery health. The bug was with the BMS where it calculated that value incorrectly so LeafSpy will show the bugged value and when you apply the fix to the car it will then show the corrected value.
