Hi all, hope this is the right forum for this question. I am selling a couple of concert tickets on Done Deal, the buyer is going to pay with Paypal and I am going to register post the tickets. Once the payment is in my Paypal account and I have put in a request to transfer funds to my bank account, is it safe enough to post the tickets at that stage or could the purchaser still reverse the payment? I know it takes a day or two for funds to hit your bank account, but wondering if I am safe enough to post the tickets before the money physically arrives in my account?

Take photos of tickets, take photos of the envelope they go in, take photo again in the post office of the envelope with the registered postage on it.
Only send to the verified PayPal address.

Check the feedback of the buyer.

Check the address on Google Street view

Use your judgment and common sense.

You're not going to be "safe".

A week from now the buyer could dispute it and your PayPal balance would be then negative. If you lost the dispute you'd owe PayPal the money.

The buyer could argue that they did receive an empty envelope even if it was tracked. For tickets, I wouldn't use a online payment service. If possible, I would recommend doing a cash exchange.

Insist on buyer to send funds by paypal's "to family/friends" option. They, however, may not go for it.

Thanks for all the replies, I used the advice in post number two and the tickets arrived safely. But I realise now that it’s a risk to take so won’t use that method again.

Out of interest Joujoujou, why is it better to use family and friends? I thought the other way offered better protection.

Other way offers better protection, but not from seller's point of view - family and friends offers no complaint procedure - once transfer is made, it cannot be undone.

If you tried to sell me something using F&F I'd assume you were a scammer though.

Selling tickets is a total mess.
