Hi. I am currently buying an old farmhouse to live in with 2 garages. The garages are detached from the main building and built recently. These are in excellent condition and I am very anxious to include them in the home insurance. Is this a given? Do I have to highlight them in particular?

If the garages are solely for domestic use, they are automatically included in your home insurance policy provided you make adequate provision for them in the rebuilding sum insured you choose.

The use the garages are put to is crucial
