Upgrading Late 2011 MacBook Pro

Hello all. I currently have a Late 2011 MacBook Pro and was thinking of upgrading it. The fans start resembling a Boeing 747 when opening up a web browser or even when playing football manager I have to turn down the graphics low enough so that the pitch looks like a blur. I have done a few upgrades to it in the past like swap out the dvd drive for a SSD and up the RAM from 4gb to 16gb. can't update MacOS to the new version due to the age of the MacBook and don't really have any use for MacOS anymore and would be willing to switch to a Windows environment



Looking at Prime day i've noticed the price of a Huawei MateBook D down to £465.

Just wondering would this be a sufficient upgrade on my MacBook Pro. Tempted by the sale price.


Have a fairly good Desktop so this would be a 2nd machine for when I'm out and about or outside the office.

that laptop is a nice machine (metal build and light enough at 1.5kg, decent battery life) and the integrated graphics on the Ryzen 2500u are better than the intel i5 u chips. the cpu power is a bit lower on the converse side but still decent

it's a 4-core chip compared to the 2-core that was in your MB Pro.

wifi is better

ssd is probably faster
