Anybody else notice that Tesco fuel prices have shot up now that they are running a 5c & 10c off per litre promotion? Price is around 10-20c more per litre than everywhere else around.

Unfortunately, pumps.ie closed down. Now the retailers can stick it to us because we have no idea of what people are paying in other stations near the one we use.

Speaking of which, has Circle K taken over all its rivals. It seems that some sort of a petrol cartell is operating in Dublin 15, where we used to have a little competition before Circle K arrived. Now every station is a Circle K brand except for Applegreen, which used to be competitive, but now with the lack of competition, charges much the same as Circle K.

As for the latest Tesco promotion. Is anyone stupid enough to spend 15 minutes driving from Dublin 15 to Tesco Clearwater to but fuel 10c per liter cheaper. Cheaper than what? Tesco don't tell us what they are charging, just that they are going to charge you 10c per litre less than you would pay in their forecourt without the voucher. Then you are faced with another 15 minute drive home.

Life is too short. Stick it up your donkey, you con artists!!!

Think driving from D15 to Clearwater is bad? Here in Newbridge we have to drive approx. 45 Kim’s to Maynooth to avail of this “offer”. What I find galling is that Tesco Newbridge even have a board outside their shop telling us to go to Maynooth....grrrr

Local stations to one of these overcharging Tesco stations are matching their higher prices now too - 22c difference between circle K in Maynooth and Drogheda!

This is something which has bugged me for a long time: Supervalu are often heard on the radio advertising their sirloin/fillet ( example ) 33% cheaper - cheaper than what???

Anyone buying that crap deserves to be screwed moneywise.
