    Hi All,

Looking for a bit of help on how to proceed.

    BA Nursing
    Admin experience x3 years

Carer full time, allowed to work 15 hours.

Applied for and interviewed for an admin job in medical field. Part time, few hours per week. Was asked about salary expectations and passed it off as 'flexible but negotiable', expecting them to be given, but there weren't. Will return for final interview and an afternoon to see how I like it. I love the place and it's in an area I'm very comfortable in and know. Family in the area. Wont cost a lot in petrol. 3 hours less than allowed to work.

However, I now have another interview for another medical field admin, less medical side of things. Wages have been given and are respectable but it is an hour over what I'm allowed to work, 30-40 min drive and in an area I dont know.

I would choose job 1 over job 2 if the wages were the same or near enough. The lady is very approachable in job 1 and I want to ask before final interview about salary. How do I ask? What do I say? And do i mention i have other interviews next week? (Day for final interview to be discussed and could be on a day i have another interview)

If you want to ask, just say ‘before we go any further I just want to make sure both our expectations are aligned on the package on offer. Do you mind please letting me know the salary bracket for this role is?’.

However I wouldn’t personally discuss money until an offer has been made.

You’ve missed the boat on getting the salary range for the job. The best response to the question on salary expectations is always “I’m sure you have a salary range in mind for the role so can you please share that with me”.
