Buying car 3-5 years old

Right so I’m in a bit of a bind in that I decide which car I want and then I research it and find out it’s a piece of junk and I shouldn’t buy it. I’m keen to find some real opinions and just make a decision and buy before the summer is over. I’ll be buying diesel and I want bhp to be 150 minimum. Car will be 3-5 years old. Currently in an s40.

Mercedes CLA- I love how it looks and I was set on it. Friend bought a brand new A class a few months back and has had nothing but problems with it electrics wise. Car got rejected and got another one, has started giving the same problems. This has put me off Mercedes in general. Maybe it’s just an A class thing but it’s breaking her heart and I’m worried I’ll be the same.

Mercedes C Class Coupe - same as above

Audi TT - want the 2015 and up new model, in white. Hard to find.

Audi Q3 - like the idea of a mini jeep but thinking maybe it’s a bit ‘boring’?

Volvo S60- because the s40 was good to me and I don’t like the v40.

BMW 4 series coupe - apparently this is rear wheel drive and as I live on a hill this is a bad idea?

Any owner insights to the above options appreciated or suggestions for alternatives also welcome.

You might be better finding the ideal car in the UK and importing. Especially if you're after better spec/specific colours that are rare here.

I think you need to decide what you're looking for in a car. Hard to compare all those in your list. From small 2 door coupe, to SUV and everything in between.

Wouldn't worry about rear wheel drive. It's the best wheel drive after all . (But seriously, unless you live on top of a mountain with only dirt track access I wouldn't worry, most of these cars would not be suitable).

I think you really need to decide what you want as your list goes from a small coupe to a saloon to a crossover. They are all at different ends of the spectrum to each other.

To be honest I like them all! Size isn’t important, I can go for whatever I like the look of basically. If I’m pushed, I’m probably leaning more toward the sporty look, coupe.

See if you can test drive a TT first and see what you make of it. It's a good start. And even if you don't find the right spec you'll get a good idea of how they drive, the interior and handling.

Yeah I’ve driven it before. It surprised me as I didn’t think I’d like it but I did
