Curtain Rail Clips

So I'm having some trouble with the curtains in the apartment I'm renting. The curtains are very heavy and are connected to the railing by a series of metal hooks going through the curtain fabric then into tiny plastic clips along the rail.

The weight of the curtains pulls the plastic clippings off the rail. The metal hooks often fall off the curtain too.

I can't figure out how to get the clippings back onto the rail. Both end of the rail have clips that don't move so it doesn't seem like they slide out. And I cant seem to push them back into the rail either.

    Anyone came across it?

I'd have said those end caps must come off. Is there a little screw at the back of them or something else securing them?

The cap comes off, and you're left with the first clip which appears fixed onto a metal plate. It doesn't slide- just sticks firmly into place.

When you take off the cap and look in, is there a nut inside that holds the 1st clip/plate. There has to be a way to move that clip.

It's a Silent Gliss system. This is how you remove the first glider https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j--LY1t-mhg

Also, I have never seen curtains where the hook is shoved straight through the curtains like in your pics. Usually that type of hook is threaded through a 3" tape at the top of the curtains but your curtains don't seem to have a tape? I think this is why there is so much force put on your gliders.

If it were me, I would remove those hooks altogether and replace them with clip on curtain hooks and place one every few 6 inches or so.
There would be less stress on the gliders and they would look a hell of a lot better IMHO.

The hooks are not unusual just not common.

We had those sort of hooks on all of our curtains at our last house, the hook should be inserted further down the curtain though.

Those hooks are specifically designed to thread into a tape on the back of the top of the curtain and not stuck through the fabric.

Usually if a curtain has no tape, it is a pocket curtain where a rod is actually inserted through the pocket.

If he inserts the hooks further down, it will just drag the lining up further and make them look even worse.

No, they are meant for piercing through the fabric hence the needle point, I do know as we had them in the past. :)

They are specifically for pleated curtains and you thread them up between the pleats or for heavy curtains threaded up through the tape at the top. They are not for piercing the fabric.

I know because I have worked in the hotel industry for over 30 years. I have made curtains, repaired curtains, purchased curtains, hung curtain rails, fixed curtain rails, etc, etc.

Think what you like but you’re wrong, they are for pinch pleats and other pleats and they go into the backing fabric NOT tape.

I know because I bought handmade curtains and that how they were hung by the owner of the company.

I said they go between the pleats but pleated curtains have a heading on them. You don't just stab them through the lining and out the top of the curtain as in the attached pictures.

You can also use them through a curtain tape for heavy curtains, if you so wish and they do the job of holding the curtains better than plastic hooks.

I think I did advise the op that they need to be lower on the heading.

Also you might be getting pin hooks confused with the blunt ended version.

There is no heading on the op's curtains. That's my point.

I meant the backing fabric not a header or tape.

Haven't had a chance to look at it properly since posting. It's a rental so I need to see what screwdriver I need to locate. I'm hoping the clips that came off will slide back on.

Just an fyi but some close up shots if it helps (excuse the quality)

You don't need a screwdriver, I posted above instructions on how to remove the end glider.

Surely the hook in this picture https://ibb.co/DD3xxyR is back to front - the sharp point is what the curtains hang on and shouldn't be visible? The piece that is inserted into the material in this photo should be visible and inserted into the clip?
