I am seeking planning permission on a site which has not had a percolation test done but I know from experience and by inspecting the site that percolation will not occur to EPA standards.
I am researching using alternatives to septic tanks and waste water treatment plants that might be acceptable to Planning Authorities but am struggling to find clear guidelines or information.
I am hoping someone here might have experience and advice to share.
I think this is a subject that would interest many people.

This might be worth a look from Amazon, it's based around the Irish regulations.

Thanks Hoagy, I'll get a copy in the Library but still interested sppecifically in a system that does not require a percoaltion area or reed bed type treatment area.

in my experience these are not acceptable..... as county development plans require that new houses have systems that comply with EPA Code of Practice: Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Systems Serving Single Houses

there may be cases where they have been accepted for existing premises due to inadequate percolation, but im not aware of any.

its simply a case of not every piece of land being suitable for rural housing.
