    Hello.
I’m selling a couple of designer handbags online. I have them on a few forums.
What are the safest payment options for the likes of Done Deal and Adverts.ie? For eBay, I usually use PayPal...is this the best option for larger sums of money on other sites too?
I’ve come across scams on DD and Adverts.ie so I’m looking for suggestions!

    Thank you!

When posting careful with scammers claiming they got a fake bag, specially if they are branded.

A buyer is offering to possibly meet to view the bag (understandably!) and pay by PayPal. I’m thinking personal PayPal payment? Is this safe? Or would cash/postal order be better option
    Thank you!

If you are using Paypal make sure it's send to Friend and Family, DO NOT use for Goods and Services, if they claim item not received Paypal will give them a refund as you won't have proof or postage, Cash is another option but careful with fake notes, I would't use postal order.

You could also use Revolut to receive payment.

If the person is meeting you for the bag then cash on collection, do not use PayPal as they can say they didn’t get the bag as you have no proof of delivery and even friends and family can be reversed to a goods and services payment if they call PayPal and explain it’s a mistake

    This - definitely
    Cash only
PayPal will reverse without a signed delivery

Thank you! I’ll admit, I’ve never heard of Revolut. I must google it! Friend and Family PayPal could be an option. It’s so difficult to know; the seller always seems to have less rights than buyer.

Wow, okay. It’s hard to know where to turn! Perhaps cash or bank transfer.

Agreed. I don’t sell often so a have a tendency to worry a little about scams when I do, especially with high priced items.
