Bird id.

Can anyone id this bird, a friend sent me the picture for me to id it but iv'e never seen one before.

I contacted the person and the bird was seen in Mooncoin this morning, but that is not the picture of the bird, after seeing the bird she looked it up and that is the nearest she found that looked like it.

I sent her a picture of a Jay to look at in case thats what she saw.

Ach! It could have been any number of things then, including a Stonechat.

Hopefully she will have the camera at hand if it appears again, she does know the normal birds, so we will wait and see. Thank's.

She knows her normal garden birds and I asked her could it have been a Bully, she's adamant that the one she saw is the one in the picture.

Curiously enough, a Rose-coloured Starling was spotted in Dundrum in Co. Down several days ago:

Yes, we get several sighting of them most years. But the photo is an Orchard Oriole and it can't have been that.
