Dealer gimmicky trends back in the day

I remember Fiat in the early 1990's gave you a small model car of the actual car you bought. An Uncle bought a red Fiat Tipo back in the day and he got a Tipo model car from the dealership on a little plaque to go with it. It was very cool actually, the doors opened on it to.

Any other manufacturers doing that back in the old days, or even today ? Any other interesting little trinkets being given out to new car owners ?

Nissan did the "buy one this year, replace it next year for free". I availed of that in 2005/2006/ I also got a free TV with it. Ended up holding onto the car for 10 years. Sold it on, and I know its still going strong! (And the TV is still going strong!)

Didn’t Mazda do his and hers watches with the 10th anniversary mx5. Remember looking at a car as a trade in years ago and the owner had the watches with him. Think it was an MX5 anyway.

Are you sure it wasn't to stuff in the sills before applying filler?

A dealer in Alabama (obviously) was giving a free Bible and a shotgun with every car purchase for 4th July.
