Take a 5 second count before you do anything - helps engage the brain!

Cowen and all the FFG political elite never have to wait many hours in A&E to be get immediate essential health treatment like the rest of us. It's understandable that one of the men involved in the misery of the major economic crash would have anger directed at him.

Sites like here and the Journal are filled with mouth-breathing morons. Most of them have no job, no partner, and no hope. So they just spend their days complaining, ranting, and soapboxing. Very easy lads to wind up as well I’ve noticed. You wouldn’t be dealing with our intellectual elite.

It's sad that with so much opportunity offered by the internet, some people have nothing better to do than dumping links on sites like this to try and stir up outrage.

We sat again for an hour and a half discussing maps and figures and always getting back to that most damnable creation of the perverted ingenuity of man - the County of Tyrone.

They don't actually leave the rest of us waiting on trolleys with suspected bleeding on the brain either.

The real world ‘peaceful protest’, Je Suis Derek, Jobstown incident with Joan Burton among others set the tone - all of the above were seen as ‘legitimate’ by a certain segment of society so legitimised online abuse, particularly of politicians.

Milkshaking and threats of acid are the latest thing.

When did you last have a brain haemorrhage? Or treat someone with one?

Are you a bit dim or do you really have such a simplistic view on things?

In principle that's true. I've long thought that many of the ills of the public health system would be sorted very quickly if TDs, senior civil servants along with managers and consultants in the HSE were obliged to rely solely on same public system as part of the T&Cs of their job.

Why you directing this at me? Wasn't he treated in the private Beacon hospital rather than the likes of a general A&E like the rest of us would? I said that I understand why there is anger by the victims of the economic policies directed by FF leaders at the time which resulted in misery for alot of people.

The use of FFG is a sure sign that the opinions contained in the post can be safely ignored.

you say that like the beacon is some unattainable palace. Most people making 75k+ (not even 'rich) would have private health insurance that would cover this, and a lot more even below that would have a private or semi private room.

Its not some ivory palace only accessible to people you seem to think have millions knocking about.

What kind of misery have these losers ever faced? A reduction in their dole?

    In other news
"Well wishes continue to flood in for seriously ill Brian Cowen"

I suppose it's what the journalist choose to focus on.

My PHI costs me €2.10 a day. Excellent value for money. That's less than I pay for the flat white that I enjoy daily as I study the latest drivel from Fintan O'Toole and Una Mullally in the free Irish Times provided by my local coffee bar.

Best wishes to Biffo though - he's far too young to die.

What I mean is the kind of loser who feels its acceptable to abuse a very ill man online, has never worked a day in his life.

People making 75K plus are a minority in this country, and your beloved politicians fall nicely into that category including those on multiple gold plated pensions.

Sure there were nearly 600,000 people waiting over a year and a half waiting for a consultant appointment. https://www.irishexaminer.com/breakingnews/ireland/number-of-people-on-hospital-waiting-lists-jumps-by-800-926009.html
These are the same people who experience horrendous third world conditions in A&E because they are not wealthy enough.

There’s a tranche of people who spend their entire days moaning and giving out about living in one of the most prosperous, safe, and civilised countries in the world. They’d advocate for turning the place into some sort of socialist state. As a lad once said to me; the ultimate nightmare for most of them would be having to work in a socialist workers republic.

 ahh come off it. the HSE isn't the worlds best health service but stop referring to it like that.

You would wonder why half of Africa want to come here if we have such third world services.

The rest of us? More than politicians are treated in private hospitals. Many of us have access as well.

I'm guessing you haven't been to A&E in a third world country, because if you had then you wouldn't be making comments like this.
