    Hi,

I have a ground floor extension, built 25 years ago. It has 100mm cavity, with about 60 mm white insulation board. I am building a 1st floor extension over the existing extension, does anyone know what is best option to insulate 1st floor? 60mm rigid insulation or beads to fill both ground floor and 1st floor extension?

    Hi,

I'm living in a house with 60mm rigid insulation in a 100mm cavity with a 37.5mm insulated plasterboard fitted. I find it easy enough to heat.

Continue the insulated plasterboard around the ceiling with a minimum of a 100mm polyiso board between the rafters or if it's a full two storey, lay 400mm of fibreglass wool onto joist.

    Hope this makes sense
