Looking in the tester's manual it's a fail
    https://www.rsa.ie/Documents/NCT/New%202018/NCT%20Manual%202018.pdf
(d). Lens broken, missing or badly cracked.

    It's only a visual retest

Price a replacement at the main dealers,it may not be too expensive and they might have one.

Failing that you might pick one up in a scrap yard.

They are available spurious for most cars now.

Unless you are in the far Northwest or Northeast of the country, if you order one in a motor factors before 10.30 on Monday morning, you should be able to pick it up the same day.

Rang local consort and Summerhill spares this morning neither have in stock.

In fact Summerhill spares said they have never broke a Toyota aygo

Consort and all other motor factors in Dublin get at least one if not more same day deliveries from their Dublin based suppliers every day. I work for one of these suppliers. We supply these number plate lamps.

The motor factors cannot be expected to stock each and every car part on their shelves so they order a lot of parts in as required.

I have both rang and emailed Consort to be sure on phone was told they didn’t have and got an email reply this morning stating that that particular part is unavailable to them

Any luck sourcing one in a local Toyota dealership. Most car brand dealers can get parts next day if they don't have it in stock.

If you don't manage to get one in a local dealership there's plenty options on eBay or parts suppliers (mostly from UK in google searches). If you have a parcel motel or address pal account you can probably get free shipping.

Search for the part number 81270-0H010 or description, toyota aygo number plate light.

Should be able to get two for around €20 - €25. It's still worth putting the car through the NCT - if the bulb is working it might pass but if not it's a visual fail if everything else passes. Get the part and have visual recheck within 28 days without any additional NCT cost.

    .

Haven’t had the chance to get down to local dealership yet as I only noticed it missing on Saturday. I am going to pop down on my lunch break today Fingers crossed they have one.

Yes I am gonna put it through nct anyway and hope for the best. I have seen some on eBay so if dealership don’t have one that’s my next stop.

    Thank you.

Not sure re missing lens cover but had a car pass the NCT recently with an Advisory note that bulb in the registration plate light was dodgy.
