Land registry question - house not really sold

Is it possible for a house to be sold through property price register but when doing a land registry, the new owners name is not appearing, it still shows as the old owners name.

This house was sold almost a year ago.

Just trying to find out as I think a house was made to appear to be sold but hasn’t actually been sold.

If it is on the property price register, then stamp duty was paid (via the solicitor) on the transfer of the deeds.
It would seem unlikely that they would do that unless the sale actually happened.

Updating of the Land registry can take a while.
Sometimes it will show that an amendment is pending, you see two items referring to the folio when you look at the map, as far as I remember.

It often takes years for the new owner to be registered in the land reegistry.
