Thai - Kin Khao by far best anything in town

    Indian - Silver Oak
Pizza - bit meh, best is Basilico/Colloseo
    Chinese - partial to Ken's

There is no shortage of good restaurants and take aways.

    Good restaurants:
    Fatted calf
    Thyme
    Kin Khao
    Silver oaks
    Al Mezza.

A little further afield within 15 minutes you have glasson (Wineport, Grogans, The Village restaurant), motte & bailey in mount temple.

There is loads of italian/decent middle of the road restaurants- IL collesseo, pavorottis, do Bella, cucina d'angelo.
Good bar food Murphy's, shack, bounty, prince, dead centre.

And millions of chippers of all varieties. Just check out justeat

This list is not everything. There are more around.

If food is your thing you wont find a better spot than Athlone.

Tried soho for the first time a few days ago, was pleasantly surprised, as nice as Kens and a bit cheaper
